It was her family’s move to Australia that kickstarted Marona Tanner’s successful modeling career. Her stunning beauty, a result of her Egyptian heritage, drew the admiration of anyone she came across with, and for good reason. Besides being a full-time model and a high-profile Instagram star with more than half a million followers, Marona also possesses an acting degree, she’s a sculptor and an animator who can speak 3 languages; English, Arabic, and French. She has modelled for high profile brands such as Abyss By Abby, Do You Even, Lorna Jane, Freddy, Fashion Nova, JD Sports, L’Oréal, Lonsdale, and many more so it’s safe to say that Marona is a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry.

Model & Mode Magazine recently caught up with Marona to discuss her journey in the modeling industry and here’s what went down:

How did you get into the modeling industry? How were you actually ‘discovered’?

Since I’ve moved to Australia, I feel like I have been guided by almost every person I come across to do modeling as a full-time job.

What do you like most about being a model?

Getting to meet creative people from all around the world. I’ve modeled for a lot of overseas brands so it’s been absolutely amazing dealing and working with many creative minds.

The downside to being a model?

I guess modeling in Australia can be a bit challenging which is why it’s very important for professional models to broaden themselves and have agencies in different countries.

What do you like most when it comes to partnering with various brands?

Networking and building strong relationships with small and big brands.

What do you post on Instagram the most?

Mostly about fashion and style.

What’s your favourite part about being a model/influencer?

Being able to promote the latest trends in the fashion world.

What advice would you give emerging influencers when it comes to the importance of quality and original content?

Most brands these days prefer real-life images of people, not necessarily from your typical skinny models with long legs. Nowadays, what’s really working well are real people with beautiful curves. That’s what I call being original.

Working in an industry whose only emphasis is on the outside characteristics of a person, how have you stayed grounded?

I appreciate people who put effort into their appearance. However, real beauty is what comes within and nothing can beat that!

Is your family supportive of you being in the modeling industry?

Yes.

What are your future plans? Inside your career or out of it.

Star in a movie at one point, buy a new house and a boat.

The ‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:

1. Last good movie I’ve seen: Brain on fire. I also appreciate Hot Fuzz and the Dress Maker.

2. What do you consider beautiful? A good soul.

3. What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? We all have dreams. However, I like to take one step at a time.

4. Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d…” swim far/deep in the ocean

5. What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? How stubborn I am, guess I’m stubborn about that too.

Meet The Stunner Behind The Cover Of The February 2021 Issue Of Model & Mode: The Beautiful Paige Tonkin

Paige Tonkin is a motivated, bubbly, and caring 17-year-old model who is currently studying for her H.S.C.

Paige has always been fascinated by watching the beautiful models and actors on television and has dreamed of one day making a name for herself.

It was at the age of 14 when her dream was kick-started and she was scouted and taken to Las Vegas for a talent and runway show. This amazing experience made Paige completely fall in love with the industry and has made her even more determined to succeed.

When Paige isn’t working the camera or the runway you will find her coaching Aerial Silks, Aerial Lyra, and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics at the local gym.

Paige’s strong work ethic is demonstrated in everything that she does and she knows that by chasing your dreams, success is only footsteps away.

Model & Mode Magazine recently caught up with Paige to discuss her journey in the modelling industry and here’s what went down:

1. How did you get into the modelling industry?

I was introduced to the industry at the age of 14 when I attended my first audition for acting and that’s when the scouts encouraged me to audition for modelling as well, this casting was actually to be scouted to Las Vegas to perform in this amazing production called IPOP and after this amazing experience, I completely fell in love with the industry.

2. What do you like most about being a model?

I love everything about being a model but if I had to choose one, It would be the amazing people I meet and all the new friends I make every time I go to work.

3. Downside to being a model?

There are not many downsides to being a model, but I have to say I’m not the biggest fan of having to get in the water on a cold winters morning and the 4 am starts every now and then, I do like my beauty sleep but of course as soon as I’m up and going, nothing can stop me!

4. What has been the most memorable experience of being in the modelling industry so far?

Wow, this is a tough one, there are so many amazing memories I’ve made so far, but the ones that stand out the most would have to be modelling at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and living out my dream of walking the runway as an angel in the ultimate cover girl search.

5. Who have been the most interesting people you’ve met so far?

I’ve been lucky enough to meet so many interesting people. I have worked with so many different photographers and designers from all over the world, and built so many lasting friendships with different models and actors, from as far away as Finland and parts of the U.S To name a few I would have to say the amazing designers Oogi Flower, Lisa Swinbanks and Fai Peni. The incredible Bridget Foster(starred in CSI Miami) and Mark Carroll (Abercrombie & Fitch model) scouted me to Las Vegas And lastly I cannot forget the amazing Mike Ilagan the CEO of StarCentral Magazine.

6. What has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned while in the modelling industry. This can be about the industry or about yourself.

The most valuable lesson I have learned from the industry and something I live by from day to day is that confidence is key. I believe you can get to wherever you want to be when hold your head high and believe in yourself. The second most important lesson I have learned is to always know who you are working with and you’re safety and integrity always come first.

7. Is your family supportive of you being a model?

My family is my biggest support system and I would not be where I am today without them, I could not thank my mum enough for driving me halfway around the world every weekend and my dad always standing there with a coffee in hand when I’m up for a long day of shooting. And of course, my sister always lending me half her wardrobe (laughs). I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a supportive family.

8. If you could go back in a time machine to the time when you were just getting started, what would you do differently?

I honestly would not change a single thing about my journey in the industry as I would not be where I am today and the person I am today without the good and the bad times that have shaped me into the model and actress I am now.

9. What is the best advice you have ever been given?

One of the best pieces of advice I have always been told since I was a kid to now is to always treat others the way you wish to be treated, and this is something I will always carry throughout my life.

10. What are your future plans? Inside your career or out of it.

I have always had plans to hopefully make acting and modelling my full-time career, and one day be cast in a big-budget feature film and walk various catwalks all over the world.

The ‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:

1. Last good movie I’ve seen: Harry Potter – Goblet Of Fire.

2. What do you consider beautiful and why? The way someone carries them-self because it shows who they are.

3. What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? Skydiving.

4. Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d…” expose myself to copious amounts of gamma radiation and become the hulk.

5. What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? My brutal honesty.

Meet The Model Behind The January 2021 Issue Of Model & Mode: The Dashing Cristian Sahdalá

Cristian Sahdalá is a model and a professional skydiver who hails from the Caribbean living in Nashville, Tennessee – he’s an owner of a commercial cleaning franchise in Nashville.

Sahdalá’s life has always been about modeling and taking care of his body but lately, he’s made a huge decision in his life – he has decided to become a professional skydiver. This is a big deal for him because it’s a massive challenge for him to break through the fear of doing something out of the ordinary all by himself since he has never done anything extreme in his life –  in fact, he doesn’t even ride roller coasters. He went from always being afraid and not daring to try anything to jumping out of an airplane from 17000ft above the ground on his first solo jump!

This new venture all started as a personal project of Sahdalá’s. He has always liked taking pictures of himself – he has been doing this for the last 5 years now and then posting the photos on Instagram but this year he realized that all his posts never surpassed the 300-400 likes mark so he started thinking of doing something different to get more engagement in his Instagram account.

So he eventually came up with the idea of taking pictures of himself falling from a flying airplane, so then he’s still modeling but just in a very unique way – his plan is to make the best content on Instagram and be able to show everyone how trying something so terrifying can be such a life-changing experience.

Model & Mode Magazine recently caught up with Cristian to discuss his journey in the modelling industry and here’s what went down:

How did you get into the modelling industry?

The reason why I got into modeling is because I love photography as well as photographing myself – that’s my passion.

What do you like most about being a model?

Being able to create content for various clothing brands.

The downside to being a model?

One of the most difficult sacrifices for me is dieting, you always have to look nice and part of that is being in shape.

What has been the most memorable experience of being in the modelling industry so far?

Being invited to the New York fashion week.

Who have been the most interesting people you’ve met so far?

I’ve met Will Smith back in the Caribbean, Dominican Republic.

What has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned while in the modelling industry.

That modelling surrounded by good people can make this industry more enjoyable.

Is your family supportive of you being a model?

They are more supportive of me being a model rather than becoming a skydiver and taking all of that risk.

If you could go back in a time machine to the time when you were just getting started, what would you do differently?

Definitely being more dedicated on my social media – posting at least a picture each day.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Focus on your body and health, because you live from it.

What are your future plans? Inside your career or out of it.

Creating new ways of being a model, doing extreme adventures, and finding unique places around the world.

The ‘LIGHTNING FAST’ Round:

Last good movie I’ve seen: The Jungle.

What do you consider beautiful and why? Being able to show your natural side of your beauty because, in the end, that’s what defines and shows who you really are.

What haven’t you done yet that you wish you could? Jumping out of a plane without a parachute and landing safely!

Complete this sentence: “If I had no fear, I’d…” Learn how to ride a bike because that’s one of my biggest fears.

What is the one “flaw” you wouldn’t change about yourself? Being able to take so many big risks, but the best things in life come with risks.

Meet The Rising Star Behind The December 2020 Issue Of Model & Mode: The Amazing Jojo Almazora Sebastian

Jojo is a devoted and compassionate nurse in the Operating Theatre at a busy Metropolitan Hospital in Sydney. However, on weekends, this orthopaedic nurse transforms into a charming and dashing tuxedo attired singer-entertainer and master of ceremony. A veteran of the United States Military Forces, he could be seen regularly in concerts where he performs as a front act for artists both locally and internationally. He is the main staple in the Local and International Pageant in the last 17 years.

Jojo Almazora Sebastian was named the Australian Best Pageant Host in the Australian Golden Sash Awards for both 2019 and 2020. At the beginning of 2020, he was named as the Most Influential Person of the Year and Musician of the Year in Ava’s World Magazine Awards. In the same year, this former University Professor participated in Sydney Sings for Hope Concert for the benefit of the front liners for the Bush Fire that happened in NSW. He also lent his voice in the Heroes of the World Album recording the song “Walang Mahirap sa Buhay” written and arranged by Oliver Gadista.

In July 2020, this former disc jockey of Brother Joe and Pinoy Love Crew represented Australia in the First Virtual Edition of the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA 2020). Furthermore, he will be representing Australia once again in the 25th Year of the World Championship of Performing Arts to be held in California USA in July 2021.

Recently, Jojo was nominated and awarded in the Inaugural Sydney’s Best Dressed due to his good dressing sense and confident personality. Moreover, he released his debut Christmas Album entitled: “Christmas Ain’t Christmas Without You” released 30th October 2020. Furthermore, he has received a nomination for the Manila’s Best Dressed for 2020-2021 to represent Australia in the prestigious Annual Event.

In 2021, Jojo aspires to broaden his horizon as an individual and concentrate on his advocacies he been helping in the past 10 years. His advocacies include the following: (1) children and (2) Volunteerism. For the Children, he continues to support the various charitable institution and fundraised for Sydney Children’s Hospital and Cerebral Palsy Foundation. He also provides scholarships for the less fortunate in the Philippines to continue a college education.

One of the projects he really wanted to concentrate on in 2021 is Community Service by Volunteerism. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial gain. Volunteering is often intended to promote goodness or to improve human quality of life. Volunteering may have positive benefits for the volunteer as well as for the person or community served. Jojo highly believes that if our community comes together and volunteer even for just a couple of hours a month under any charitable institution and non-profit organisation – it will make a positive difference in the personal and professional aspects of all individuals involved, especially oneself. He furthers state that he would like for the community to realise to volunteer is a social responsibility of all its member especially to the marginalised and disadvantaged.

Consequently, Jojo was just also declared a finalist in the Mister Diamond International Australia 2021 which will be held in April 2021. Model & Mode magazine recently caught up with Jojo and here’s what went down:

1. How did you decide to be a professional MC? Who or what inspired you?

Back in my elementary days, I was very active in participating in school programs and events. And it seems like I always get the task of either performing, managing, and/or hosting each event. And as I grew up, and reached high school, I eased into the role. Because I was always tapped to host school functions which include pageantry. My classmate then started inviting me to host their debut celebration which came natural to me since I was confident enough to speak in public. As time passed by, the hosting invitations became more frequent, so I decided to become professional. As they say, when you start getting paid you are turning professional. One of my inspirations in pursuing and honing my hosting skills is my mother – Josephine Sebastian. She is very natural, witty, and entertaining. I definitely got my abilities and talents from my mom.

2. What was your first big break in the industry? How did it feel?

My first big break in the industry in Australia is when I was given the opportunity to host Miss and Mrs. Sydney Charity 2017 produced by FACAES. Even though this was relatively considered a small pageant, however, this paved the way for me to return to hosting pageantry. I totally have missed the adrenaline rush of being on stage and helping each finalist shine on stage. It felt great. It felt like I was actually back somewhere familiar like I consider the stage my second home.

3. What is your dream MCing job?

Besides hosting the Miss Earth Australia 2021, I would love to host an international pageant such as Mrs. Universe if it gets held here in Sydney. That would be another level. For sure it will be a great experience to go through.

4. Who are your favorite MC’s?

I love the hosting skills of Ryan Seacrest and wit of Steve Harvey.

5. If you weren’t an MC, what would you do within the entertainment industry?

Besides being an artist which I am pursuing now. I believed I would have pursued my passion for acting. However, the acting bug kinda left me and the singing bug stayed. I recently released my Christmas Album entitled “Christmas ain’t Christmas Without You” produced by Mr. Oliver Gadista of Mojo Studios. I do hope to pursue singing and recording in the coming year 2021.

6. How do you stay fit and healthy? What’s your exercise regime?

I ensure that I stay active all week. Being a registered nurse, it is imperative that I keep fit and healthy. Although it is difficult because of my rotating schedule. However, you just need to make time. I do a lot of cardio because it helps me with my vocals as well.

7. Is there much work around for MC’s?

Honestly, there is more than meets the eye. You need to actually learn more than just your lines. It takes more than just reading from the script. What I have learned is that you need to become the light of the program. Because as an MC you will be tasked to keep the phase and momentum of the program from beginning until the end. So as I am preparing for a show, I ensure that I get more information than what was needed. This helps me prepare myself for adlibs and reacting accordingly when there are minor difficulties and problems encountered during the show.

8. When you’re not busy being an MC, what are some of your favorite things to do?

I love to paint. All my hosting gig was canceled and placed on hold this year due to the health pandemic since March. And I discovered my love to create through painting. I also love to plant, it seems that I inherited my dad’s (Jaime Sebastian) green thumb.

9. How do you relax?

To relax I do various things. It includes painting, gardening, singing, meditating but especially getting a relaxation massage.

10. What is your go-to everyday outfit?

I have found myself increasingly busier in the last few months with singing, nursing, and hosting work. I feel like I am constantly running around Blacktown to Sydney and everywhere in between. When this happens, my go-to outfit is usually a pair of RM Willaims, black jeans, a button-up short sleeve, and a nice jacket… Super comfy- but not exactly “trendy”.

11. Given the competitiveness and the speed of the industry, how do you ensure you stand out?

I keep myself current by keeping my skills in check and ensuring that my information is up to date. I also love doing and trying new things when it comes to hosting. By doing so, you keep yourself in front of the industry. Keeping current does not mean totally forgetting your foundation, instead, you just need to hone your new skills set with your foundation and evolve into your own unique style.

Introducing Model & Mode Magazine’s Latest Covergirl: The Stunning Liudmyla Tkachenko

Liudmyla Tkachenko is a stunning Ukrainian model who is currently based in Los Angeles. She grew up in a picturesque town stretching in the western region of Ukraine. Ever since she was a little girl, she has always dreamed of becoming an international model someday. Unfortunately, the economic situation in Ukraine was bad at the time, and since she had no connections in the fashion industry – becoming an international model seemed like an almost impossible feat. But Liudmyla was persistent though, despite her situation, she was determined to turn her childhood dream into reality.

Liudmyla’s first taste of the modeling industry came in the form of a modeling contract that was offered to her to work somewhere in China. Although China has always been considered as one of the most dynamic, and vibrant countries in the world, moving to work in China can often seem daunting because of the language barrier and cultural differences. However, Liudmyla really wanted to make things work with her modeling career hence the reason why she felt that she needed a deeper cultural immersion in the Chinese ways for the sake of her career. She decided to hone her Chinese language skills first so she started taking Chinese language classes. Eventually, she came to the point that she was actually quite fluent in Mandarin.

Since working as a full-time model in China, She has appeared in several high-profile commercials and magazines in Asia. Liudmyla worked as a full-time model for a few years in Asia mainly around Hong Kong, China, and Thailand before deciding to move to the United States to further pursue her modeling career. When she moved to the United States in 2016, she didn’t speak a word of English which was tough because she had to start from the bottom again. She, therefore, decided to study English in a New York-based language school while pursuing her modeling career at the same time.

Liudmyla’s persistence eventually paid off when she started scoring one good gig after another. Since working as a model in New York, she has appeared several times in New York Fashion Week. She has walked for high-profile designers such as Dan Liu, Terraza, and Oxford Fashion, among others, and she has also done photoshoots for high-profile fashion magazines such as the L’Officiel magazine, Marie Claire, MD Trends magazine, Imaginary magazine, and Marjen magazine. Furthermore, she was involved in several catalog shoots as well as a number of exciting projects. Her photos from the New York Fashion Week shows have even been featured in Vogue, Elle, as well as Harper’s Bazaar.

After modeling for two years in New York, Liudmyla decided to try her luck at acting by moving to Los Angeles. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has appeared in a Nike commercial, as well as a few alcohol commercials, and she also scored a role in an upcoming film called “The Nowhere Inn.” The movie is set to premiere in the Sundance film festival 2020. Currently, Liudmyla is studying at an acting school called Beverly Hills Playhouse hoping that this can be her ticket to more projects in Hollywood.

Starting from a humble background, Liudmyla was initially faced with poverty as well as other problems, but she learned how to overcome all that fate threw at her. She moved forward with a single-minded determination to achieve success. Having reached her goal of becoming an international model, she’s definitely a classic example of the results of hard work and determination.

Meet The Beautiful Women Behind The Cover Of The Latest Issue Of Model & Mode Magazine

Set at the Rydges Parramatta on the 28th of February 2020, eight extremely motivated and inspirational women took on the challenge of competing for five prestigious titles. After months of training and doing charitable work, the five beauty queens have finally been handed down their respective titles by the Australian International Pageant National Director, Ferial Youakim. The International Pageants system is a unique system that differs from other pageant systems due to the authenticity in its aim to strive to serve others in the community. It simultaneously creates an opportunity for women to become self-empowered and empower others. Now let’s meet the 2020 queens (Photos courtesy of Ruby Adamson):

Laura Ratliff (Mrs. Australia International 2020)

Laura Ratliff sparkles for every child. She’s a wife, an entrepreneur, a public speaker, and a philanthropist.

When Laura was a child in school, she was actually shy and she struggled with confidence. Through the support of her mum and dad, she eventually received the tools and guidance that helped her overcome her challenges. From a young age, growing up in Sydney Australia, she has a passion for the performing arts, racing motorbikes, circus arts, and having fun. But her constant thought was – there must be something more and there must be a reason why she’s here. Through the combination of all of the skills she developed in her childhood, she laid the foundation of her business, Fairy La La Land. In 2014 Laura became an international businesswoman when she found a fantastic company called “Send Out Cards”. That strengthened her belief in the power of appreciation and building relationships that led her to find the man of her dreams and a fairytale wedding in Salt Lake City.

Her decision to enter the Mrs. Australian International pageant started when she was looking for charity organizations to help children. Laura and her husband Barton were eating lunch in SLC when she read an article about Robin Towel, the current Mrs, International 2019, and the work she does for Teen suicide prevention. Robin inspired Laura to follow in her footsteps and allow her to inspire and help even more children through this wonderful platform. Her mission is to inspire children to reach their full potential through health, fitness, and a positive mindset. Over the past ten years, she has had the privilege to make children smile and in the process, promote a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude. She is now the support for children around the world living in poverty. There are 730,000 children in Australia and 15 million children in the USA alone, living in poverty. She is on a mission to lower those numbers and provide programs to help them have a bigger, brighter future.

Laura instantly connected with the McCabe Foundation and its mission to provide education and support to inner-city youth, where they can grow and develop positive personal development skills needed as they grow into adulthood. The McCabe Foundation is partnered with Nancy Lieberman Charities to bring these tools to the youth through competitive sports, mentorship, and various educational opportunities. By partnering with the McCabe Foundation who support the Nancy Lieberman Charities, she is able to bring awareness to this problem and raise funds for multiple sports and leadership programs that deliver opportunities for children. By donating one dream court to the Nancy Lieberman charity, she’s able to give children living in low-income areas the chance to learn new skills, learn about a healthy lifestyle and build relationships with their local peers giving them focus, skills, and a network of positive influence who will help to change the cores of their future. It is her goal, as Mrs. Australia International 2020 to create 2 dream courts; one in Sydney, Australia, and one in Utah, USA that millions of children in low-income areas can benefit for years to come. To follow Mrs. Australia International 2020, Laura Ratliff’s journey, you can visit her official website (www.laurajaneratliff.com).

Sindu Varathan (Ms. Australia International 2020)

Sindu Varathan was originally born and raised in India but she decided to follow a career opportunity in Singapore and now she has been in Australia for the past decade. She is an IT Technical Consultant by profession and she is also the founder of ‘Hasi Splash’ – a not for profit which strives to bring a splash of love, hope, and laughter with acts of kindness into people’s lives, in their community and beyond. Education has played a very important role in her life and has been one of her key tools to navigate through the different transitions in her life. She believes every child has a right to a safe environment and a right to education. This is what inspired her to enter into the world of pageantry and join hands with the Save The Children organisation as her platform who works hard “building a better world for and with children.”

Life eventually unfolded into some very uncertain turns in what Sindu thought was a perfect life. She says that becoming a single parent opened her eyes to the vulnerability of a child during those difficult transitions and advocating for child rights became her passion since then. Sindu currently lives in Victoria and is actively involved in her local community raising awareness for her platform. She loves her beautiful sash and crown but she believes that her mission is much deeper than the surface. She is determined to make the most of her title to make the most of these opportunities awarded to her by helping those children that really need a voice.

Tiffany Shen (Miss Australia International 2020)

Tiffany Shen is an ambassador for The Sunlight Foundation – an organisation focussed on putting a stop to child trafficking.

Inspired by the sacrifices of her mother, Tiffany decided to act selflessly on an issue close to her own heart. Sadly, the loathsome crime of child-trafficking is rising, especially in Asia, where girls and boys, often no more than six or seven years old are sold as trophies to sex-tourists and other pedophiles, then passed on to suffer more obscene violence in the brutal sex slums of Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand. When Tiffany traveled to Vietnam, her eyes were opened to the terrible industry and she is now determined to make a difference and create a change within the government to tackle this issue.

Adelayde Mckellar (Miss Teen Australia International 2020)

Adelayne is the newly crowned Miss Teen Australia International 2020. She is a fourth-year hairdressing apprentice from Queensland and she decided to use her voice to raise awareness for the escalating issue of domestic violence after a tragedy in her family’s life sparked her need for change.

Sadly, Adelayde lost a beloved family member to domestic violence and that’s when she knew something had to be done. She is definitely a young woman on a mission.

Michelle Fleming (Goodwill Ambassador Australia International 2020)

Michelle Fleming was the reigning Ms. Australia International last year and she earnt the title of Goodwill Australia International Ambassador just recently. She’s a 45-year-old mother of three children (Tiarna, Blake, and Ruby) and she resides in the Lake Macquarie region of New South Wales. She works as a care worker/nurse in her local community.

Michelle’s passion and mission for her platforms, homelessness, and farmers are much deeper than her crown and sash. Get To Know Instagram Superstar Stephanie Hunt

Being a model can be difficult, often requiring people to make tough sacrifices. However, it can also prove to be a highly rewarding experience. For Stephanie Hunt, modeling has allowed her to travel around the world, get involved with high profile names such as Guess, Revlon, designer Melba Aros, Lady Jayne, Toscow Jewelery, celebrity hairstylist, David Babaii and magazines such as Camilla, RUSSH, Cosmopolitan, and FTV as well as meet a lot of interesting new people.

Stephanie has certainly proven that she can rely not only on her looks for her success but also on her focus, drive, and ambition. Added to that is a healthy dollop of good sense! ‘Challenges’ are a normal part of working as a model (“Modeling has definitely thickened up my skin!”) and to Stephanie, one’s attitude towards them will define you, “love and believe in yourself! I know that sounds so corny, but it can be really tough being around intimidatingly successful and gorgeous people and still feel as though you fit the bill.”

According to Stephanie, the biggest factor that determines how successful you will be is how much you want to succeed. Along with this strong passion, you should have a strong sense of integrity. Often, these values will have a bigger impact on your potential success than your looks. You should also take as many opportunities as you can, which will allow you to build your network. For many young models, a strong network is more important than seeing financial returns. In addition, it’s key to master social media. This is becoming increasingly important, allowing you to send a clear message to your fans. Once you’ve chosen your brand, use each post to re-enforce it. Social media also allows you to build a strong platform to get more people interested in your brand. You should use this tool to connect with your audience.

Stephanie’s early struggles with low self-esteem have served to spur this young entrepreneur ever onwards. She not only juggles her modeling career with her fulltime job but she also regularly volunteers at an animal shelter! It “serves as a great reminder of what my priorities should be, and what really matters in life. Having a  healthy balance between work, my personal life, and my volunteering has been the key to staying grounded for me.”

That healthy balance seems to be her recipe for success as well with many plans in the works for this talented (she speaks French and plays the piano!) young lady. But to Stephanie, it will always be “that with self-belief, hard work, dedication and a lot of resilience, you really can achieve anything.”
